Sour Jam Automatic delivers a complex and enticing flavor profile, beginning with a burst of sour grape on the inhale, followed by creamy berry notes mid-palate, and finishing with a smooth, earthy Kush exhale that leaves a faintly gassy aftertaste. The aroma during flowering is characterized by sour grape, ripe berries, and subtle gassy diesel notes, becoming more intense in the final weeks before harvest.

Growing Characteristics

Sour Jam Automatic is a 60/40 indica/sativa hybrid, bred by Sensi Seeds in collaboration with DNA Genetics as part of the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds project. This strain is a cross between Ruderalis Indica and Sour Purple, a sour, gassy, and fruity phenotype of a secret strain. These plants are short and bushy, producing heavy yields of uplifting and energizing buds without outgrowing their space.

As an autoflowering strain, Sour Jam Automatic is easy to grow and will flower on its own after a few weeks, regardless of the light schedule. They thrive in temperate to warm, semi-dry environments with good air circulation and can tolerate moderate humidity. Indoors, these plants typically reach a height of 25-80 cm and yield 250-325 grams per square metre. Outdoors, they grow to 35-100 cm and produce 150-250 grams per plant over a 60-65-day flowering period.

The growth pattern features a short, sturdy central stem with dense vegetation and long, slender lateral branches. The main cola develops in the upper quarter of the plant, while secondary colas form along the lateral branches. These buds are large, not overly leafy, and relatively easy to trim.

Growers have limited control over the final shape or size of these plants due to their fixed flowering schedule. While suitable for a sea of green (SOG) setup, their bushy lateral branches may limit the number of plants per area. Lollipopping is possible, but they are not long enough for a screen of green (SCROG) setup.

Flower Structure

The flowers of Sour Jam Automatic are tight and conical, featuring large calyxes in a rich, dark green with deep purple accents, pale orange pistils, and a thick layer of sticky trichomes. The buds are resinous and not overly leafy, making trimming manageable.
