Vienna Cotta Feminized is a 65/35 indica-dominant hybrid developed by the team at Aficionado French Connection as part of the Sensi Seeds’ Breeding Grounds project. This strain was created by crossing the classic Garlic Bud with a blend of Strudel (a Biscotti BX1 phenotype) and Pianono (Key Lime Pie & Sorbetto), developed by Aficionado and bred outdoors in Colombia. The result is a compact, versatile strain capable of producing heavy yields. These highly resinous buds are perfect for creating extracts, and the plants’ manageable height makes them ideal for indoor growers with limited headroom.
Vienna Cotta Feminized cannabis seeds grow into compact plants with slightly longer internodal spacing than a typical indica. Growers can expect a large and symmetrical central cola that rises only slightly above the lower canopy. The plants have slender lateral branches that can become weighed down by the dense, resin-coated buds. Indoors, these plants typically reach a height of 25-80 cm and can yield up to 400-550 grams per square metre. Outdoors, they can grow up to 125 cm tall and produce up to 475-650 grams per plant over a 60 to 65-day flowering period. The buds are visually striking, with creamy pale green color, hints of baked almond brown, and bold, light orange pistils covered in frosty trichomes.
Vienna Cotta Feminized is a versatile strain suitable for a sea of green (SOG) or lollipopping. However, due to the slender branches, some extra support may be needed to prevent the large buds from weighing them down. The even branch size and slightly longer internodal spacing also make it a decent choice for a screen of green (SCROG), though its slow vegetative growth can make this method time-consuming.
As Vienna Cotta Feminized plants near harvest, they emit a potent and sweet aroma dominated by the scent of fresh-baked biscotti, roasted almonds, and creamy pastry. Beneath these notes are subtle hints of earthy musk, herbal spiciness, and vanilla. The buds carry the same creamy almond, sweet biscotti, and buttery pastry notes, joined by a limey, zesty citrus aroma from the Pianono lineage. The flavor is smooth and dessert-forward, highlighting baked almond, creamy lime, and soft pastry notes, balanced by earthy and herbal undertones that deliver a long-lasting, creamy aftertaste.
The effects of Vienna Cotta Feminized are well-balanced, starting with a relaxing body stone and a creamy, dreamy mental uplift that encourages creativity. The high is deeply calming yet euphoric, making it ideal for an evening of focused work. Thanks to the sativa genetics, this strain won’t leave you feeling locked to the couch, allowing you to make the most of your time.
The Strudel parent was selected in Colombia by Professor Q from over 800 seeds for its exceptional resin production, dense structure, and distinctive garlic-forward terpene profile. Pianono is an Aficionado original bred from a cross of Key Lime Pie and Sorbetto. Garlic Bud was originally bred in the 1980s by Nevil Schoenmakers, the founder of The Seed Bank of Holland, and is being reintroduced as part of the Breeding Grounds project.
